A few months in: time for a blog check-in

I launched this blog a few months ago and with summer coming to an end (back-to-school vibes everywhere), it feels like the right time to take stock and see how far I’ve come with my goals.
Those goals were written down here: Launching my professional blog: the start of a new adventure.
One of the great things about writing online is that it forces you to look back at your own forecasts and check whether reality matched the plan (spoiler: not always).
Goals recap
Projects for 2025
Fork it! Events
✅ Organize 2–3 Fork it! Day events.
Done: Fork it Tunis in April, Fork it KL coming up in October 2025. On track.
✅ Plan a dozen meetups (even 5 would have been a win).
So far: 7 meetups (see the full list here) and probably 1 or 2 more before year’s end.
Podcasts
✅ Release 4–5 episodes in French.
Achieved: 4 “Chronique” episodes, plus an interview series planned for September (at least 4 episodes).
❌ Launch the podcast in another language (likely Arabic 🇹🇳).
Nope. I did record an English interview but the mic completely ruined it. Lesson learned.
Content Production
➡️ Write 20–40 articles.
Around 15 published, another 10 in draft (getting there).
Talks
➡️ Prepare and deliver 2–3 talks on tech & entrepreneurship.
Only one talk so far (Sunny Tech).
❌ Host live Twitch sessions about the IT industry “with no filter.”
Nothing yet.
BearStudio
➡️ Keep pushing international expansion.
Still moving, though business feels a bit slow at the moment.
➡️ Build a solid marketing process (to later hand off to specialists).
Making progress. I’ve tested a few things, learned the hard way, and it looks like I finally found the gem I was searching for. Wait & see.
Adjusting the course
Goals aren’t set in stone. Life throws curveballs, priorities shift, new projects pop up. So here’s what I’d like to focus on for the rest of 2025:
Interviews → I loved doing them (super insightful), so I’d like to double down. I already have a list of names in mind.
Marketing (for BearStudio, Fork it! and yes, myself) → I’ve found processes that work and the rhythm is slowly settling. And there’s real business value in keeping at it.
Fork it! → The momentum is good. For 2026, we already have 3 full-day events planned: Hanoi, Tunis, and Rouen.
BearStudio turns 10 in 2026 → We’ll try to celebrate in style and invite quite a few people. I’ll probably share behind-the-scenes blog posts as we prepare.
Blog themes → I’d like to publish series around UX and open source (two areas close to my business heart).
Talks → I’ve got a few in the drawer, especially my “UX & Cloud” talk that I’d like to refresh (because let’s be honest, AI changes the picture quite a bit).
Tech → After 10 years in HR, people-management left its marks (I’m tired of humans, basically). So I’ll get back to coding a bit and share that journey here (popcorn guaranteed).
Travel plans
For anyone interested in catching up IRL:
-
September → API Platform in Lille
-
October/November → KL, Bangkok, Hong Kong
In the meantime
While waiting for the next batch of articles, here are a few pieces I really enjoyed writing (and that readers seem to like too):
Stop Explaining to Me How to do my Job
Starting BearStudio: A Decade of Lessons and Reflections
Fork it @ React Paris 2025 – Experience Report
That’s the plan (for now). It will obviously evolve, but it gives you a sense of direction.
