Fork it! Podcast - Winter Chronicles Edition đď¸âď¸
Podcast
On January 30, 2025, I joined the Fork it! podcast âWinter Chroniclesâ alongside ClĂŠment Michel and Yoann Fleury to discuss topics I care deeply about, from AI and ethics to VPNs and video games for learning logic. It was an inspiring exchange of ideas and experiences.
Artificial Intelligence and ethics
Artificial intelligence fascinates me because it reshapes how we work and think. I shared how I integrate AI into projects to improve efficiency and decision-making. It is also a great support tool for newcomers, lightening their workload and accelerating learning.
Still, AI raises ethical questions about privacy, bias, and responsibility. Companies must ensure transparency and fairness in their systems. I also reminded that AI can make mistakes, just like people. Encouraging juniors to use it isnât condescension but pragmatism: it saves time and communicates feedback with tact.
My career shift from technician to commercial taught me that adaptability is key. AI can help us ask better questions, explore new ideas, and evolve our perspectives in a rapidly changing world.
VPNs and digital security
ClĂŠment pointed out how ads for VPNs often exaggerate their promises: total privacy, universal unblocking, and perfect Wi-Fi protection. He explained that VPNs are valuable tools when used wisely: they encrypt data, mask IPs, and provide an essential layer of protection in a world of constant cyber threats. I recalled discovering this firsthand during a trip to China, when a VPN allowed me to access restricted resources. It was a powerful reminder that security and accessibility go hand in hand.
Learning logic through games
Yoann introduced The Farmer Was Replaced, a Python-based game that teaches programming concepts step by step. Players automate a digital farm using loops, conditions, and logic to grow efficiently. I mentioned other similar games that encourage critical thinking and creativity. ClĂŠment and I also discussed how early exposure to technology helps children build curiosity and confidence for the future.
Listen to the episode to explore these topics in detail and join Fork it! Community to share your own insights about technology, ethics, and learning.
